Raucous #1

after reading some Kevin Young poems

the streets are curtains
skin chalk
dead hurt

whether pockets season or
stretch gin

acrylic drawers repeal
hurt skin
pigeons
a flat moon

frame vinyl, bop black
scrawl captivates the blaring
light
dead sheets painted

I (mistakenly) read "stretch thin" at "stretch gin," which bounces off (in?) "pockets," it seems.

btw: Out of curiousity, why this project (of using Kevin Young--or another established male's language--in *your* new poems)? I'm interested in that motivation.... am guessing at reasoning (out of my own motivations) but want to hear yours, as it is your project. (oh! ownership!)
